Hi, we’re John and Thérèse Dennison, the creators and cultivators of Home Harvest.
How We Became "Lifestyle Entrepreneurs"
It goes without saying that we both loved the taste of fresh vegetables! However because we were both so busy we only ever had time to have a few crops growing
at a time.
It was whilst Thérèse was off sick from work that the idea for Home Harvest truly began to come about. With the additional time Thérèse had within her days convalascing she would spend as much time in the garden as she was able to, growing more and more fresh organic vegetables.
Having overcome the difficulties of time, and that of Khandallah’s clay soil by creating raised garden beds, we were able to create enough delicious vegetables to share with our family and friends.
Early Beginnings
It wasn’t long before people were asking us to set up similar vegetable gardens for them, enabling them to get the same simple pleasures out of growing and sharing their own organic vegetables as we have. We were happy to give free advice, however our clients asked us if we knew of any good gardening books, so we began to sell books. Soon we began making and selling tools too. Then Thérèse shared her hand scrubs and moisturisers she had been using with our clients and demand grew for our garden related hand and body care products made from natural ingredients.
Our Business Today
We found that our growing sales gave us little time to install raised gardens and so we reluctantly scaled down and finally stopped that side of our business. Now we trade online and at markets and fairs selling a range of seeds and products
